ABOUT ME

My name is Dakota Perez. I am a pianist, composer, theory teacher, and accompanist living and going to school in Calgary, Canada. I will begin my third year of my Bachelor of Music in piano performance at the University of Calgary in Fall 2022.

I recently had the opportunity to play the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s first piano concerto with the Calgary Civic Symphony in December 2021 after winning the Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition in March 2021. I also placed as the first runner-up in the 2020 competition. I was a finalist in the 2019 Stampede Talent Search and received an honorable mention at the 2018 Steinway Junior Piano Competition (Calgary). I received my ARCT diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2019. This past year I was a participant in the Dick Matthew’s Young Artist Development Program through Calgary Pro Musica and had the opportunity to perform in a sponsored concert in May 2022
